• The documents submitted shall be examined within two months;
  • the residence permit card is produced within ten working days.

The personal code and temporary protection status are usually granted immediately, however, in case of an increased influx of visitors or if all the necessary information cannot be obtained from the documents you have submitted, the granting of temporary protection status could take longer.

A Ukrainian civilian residing in the Republic of Latvia on the basis of a residence permit is obliged to declare his/her place of residence within one month of receiving the residence permit!

You can declare your place of residence in Latvia:

  1. At the OCMA division, upon receipt of a residence permit card (free of charge). If you declare your residence at the OCMA after obtaining a residence permit, you will have to pay a state fee;
  2. via the OCMA's e-service: https://bit.ly/38ZBv3B (free of charge). You can authenticate with i-banking or an e-signature, including the one included in the residence permit card or the eID card for foreigners. Support for this e-service is available by visiting any Single Customer Service Centre of the State and Local Government: https://www.pakalpojumucentri.lv/vpvkac
  3. at the place of residence registration office of the municipality where the new place of residence is located (state fee to be paid).
