Ministry of Interior's Information Center (MoI IC) in cooperation with the State Police (SP) and the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs (OCMA) implements the project "Improvement of the Schengen Information System" within the Internal Security Fund 2014-2020 national program project No. IC / IDF / 202/2 (hereinafter - the Project).

Project goal: Improvement of the National Schengen Information System (SIS) II and SIRENE data flow information system, as well as related national information systems in accordance with the requirements of the SIS legal package of November 28, 2018.

Project implementation period: 12.08.2020 - 31.05.2024.

Funding: EUR 6,039,544

Fund funding: EUR 4,836,397

State budget: EUR 1,203,147

OCMA part: EUR 260,804

Project activities:

  1. Implementation of the Eu-LISA releases and improvement of related national IS.
  2. Improvement of the return process and development of supporting IS.
  3. Procurement of biometric data processing equipment.
  4. Development of a solution for searching for persons and objects.
  5. Security tests.

Project results:

  1. Carried out the system improvement works specified in the eu-LISA technical documentation (releases introduced).
  2. Ensured inclusion of return decisions in SIS II.
  3. Procured 30 sets of biometric data processing equipment. Each set will consist of: finger and palm scanners, desktop computer, computer monitor, mirror camera, retractable, roll-up, tripod-free, photography backdrop with ruler.
  4. Development of functionality for unified inventory and search process of persons and objects.
  5. Performed 1 security test.

OCMA involvement:

OCMA, as a cooperation partner, within the period from 1.11.2021 - 30.06.2023, implemented activities as part of Project Activity 3, as a result of which the sending of return decisions of deported foreigners and entry bans recorded in the Register of Deported Persons and Entry Bans (IĀIAR) together with biometric data to the new Schengen Information System (SIS) II was ensured.
