Project NO. PMLP/IDF/2019/4 “Use and Development of National Visa Information System (NVIS) (PHASE 2)
Project goal: To improve the quality of information technology used in the visa processing process and to provide system users with a suitable work environment, as well as the necessary training and consultations on relevant EU visa application processing issues.

Project budget:
Total budget - 321,927 EUR
(Fund co-financing - 276,041 EUR, state budget co-financing - 45,885 EUR)
Planned activities in the project:
- Implementation of software improvements for the National Visa Information System to ensure data exchange with the Entry and Exit Information System (IIS), as well as the enhancement of system functionality to provide analysis and evaluation of system users' actions to reduce corruption risks in the visa issuance process;
- Training for MFA, OCMA and SBG employees on working with NVIS;
- Courses for OCMA and MoI IC employees on IS administration and/or development issues.
Results achieved in the project:
- Ensured interoperability between NVIS and IIS;
- Reduced corruption risks in the visa issuance process;
- Trained 310 SBG, OCMA, and MFA employees involved in the visa process;
- Trained 5 OCMA IT specialists on information system administration, maintenance, and/or development issues.
