Project of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund 2021-2027, Project No. PMLP/PMIF/2023/1 "Modernization of the Unified Migration Information System Software Platform (Phase 1)"
Project objective:
To develop and improve the digital communication environment of the state administration in the field of residence permits, providing the client with a remote service cycle, from convenient service application to decision-making, thereby promoting cooperation with third countries and strengthening key aspects of migration management in the interests of European Union migration policy.
Results to be achieved in the project:
- Develop and implement e-services in the field of residence permits, providing the client with a full remote service cycle, from convenient service application to receiving a decision;
- In collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior's Information Center (MoI IC), adapt the information system infrastructure to the needs of the new e-service;
- Continue the development of the document digitization process, promoting the transition to digital document circulation in institutions, which facilitates faster processing of documents submitted by individuals and decision-making;
- Ensure the operation of an information hotline, providing clients with the opportunity to receive information on immigration and residence issues in Latvia.
