Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs (hereinafter – OCMA) reminds that, taking into account that the number of Ukrainian civilians in need of the services of OCMA has gradually decreased, OCMA will cease its activities at the Riga Support Centre for Ukrainian Citizens (hereinafter – the Centre) as of 27 June 2024. However, as of July 1, services to Ukrainian civilians in Riga will continue to be provided in four territorial divisions of OCMA – Riga 1st Division, Riga 2nd Division, Riga 3rd Division, and Riga 4th Division. The service will be provided on a "live queue" basis, with clients contacting the CMA's customer service assistants at the information centres of the divisions.
"OCMA appreciates the Centre's contribution and thanks the Riga City Council for its cooperation. Our successful cooperation in an unprecedented crisis situation has enabled us to provide much-needed support to a large number of Ukrainian civilians, and has shown that this model of large-scale cooperation can work effectively in emergencies. At the moment, the aim of OCMA is to respond flexibly to the change in circumstances – the decrease in the number of clients – and to continue to provide services to the civilian population of Ukraine, using the available funding economically," says Maira Roze, Head of OCMA.
The change of location will optimise the financial and personnel resources needed for this purpose, and will make it more convenient for Ukrainian civilians to receive services at any of the four divisions in Riga. The range of services will remain unchanged – clients will continue to be able to apply for residence permits with the right to employment, submit information for inclusion in the Register of Natural Persons, declare their place of residence, and apply for a personal identification number.
