Ukrainian civilians are entitled to apply for temporary protection status in the Republic of Latvia.
The document certifying a temporary protection status is a residence permit issued for two years.

At any territorial division of the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs

  • You must show the identity documents you have – foreign passport, ID card, domestic passport.

If you do not have any of the above documents, you must apply to the Ukrainian Embassy for a certificate proving your identity.

What documents should be submitted if you are a Ukrainian civilian who is an adult citizen of the Russian Federation or the Republic of Belarus?

The personal identification number and temporary protection status are usually granted immediately, at the time of your visit, but in the event of an increased influx of visitors or if not all the necessary information can be obtained from the documents you submit, it could take longer to grant temporary protection status.

The residence permit application is examined within 10 working days.

The residence permit card is produced within 2 working days after the decision has been taken and the biometric data have been handed over.
